Some things that will guarantee failure and a broken heart when dating online are totally exceptable or at the very least some what acceptable in the real world.
So when dating online don't be aggressive, demand perfection and never lie even a white lie is taboo.
There is a huge difference between being confident and being too aggressive, over-confident, or just plain sleazy or slimy from a woman’s point of view.
Under no circumstances push too hard for a face-to-face with a potential female online date, you will come across as too aggressive…maybe even, scary.
Try to remember that you are not trying to close a business deal and keep the relationship progressing at a slow but steady pace. Patience and honesty are the keys to a great online dating experience.
We are all flawed in some way or another, including you, no one is perfect.
If you expect women to be absolutely perfect, you will always be disappointed. Demanding perfectionism in your work is one thing. Demanding perfectionism from a friend, co-worker or a lady you are interested in is not just fine. It won’t happen. Expect flaws and just deal with them. Decide the ones you can live with and those you can’t. If you can't live with the flaws move on and meet someone else.
Be honest from the beginning of a relationship. Write your profile. Make it interesting but don’t make false statements, make it real with no lies. The truth will come out eventually anyway.
Remember to be yourself, be honest, thoughtful, patient and considerate.
Take your time and get to know your online date, if she is your soul mate be prepared to wait a few weeks before doing a face to face meet. A few weeks is nothing in the scheme of potentially spending your whole life with someone.

Online dating and socializing is a fun way to meet people. I have met alot of great people thru chats, IM, e-mail. You can talk to anyone from your own back yard to the other side of the world. Granted it can be dangerous if you do not follow the rules, but so is conventional dating. I wont meet someone within the first week of chatting. And never meet anyone alone...always bring a friend and meet in a public place. Stick to those little rules and you should stay safe. There are more pros to online dating and socializing than there are cons. It is so much fun. You should try it.
It is a great place to meet people indeed! Especially when the two of you chat on IM and found that there's a connection, even if it's just a little bit. This might lead to real life dating and possibly marriage! I have seen people who met online and got married!
Any relationship is a process. So moving steadily step by step is a good idea and a great advice for men in online dating. However, if you are looking into international dating for example, you should remember, that any process needs to have some sort of conclusion. There are many men looking for beautiful russian brides for example, who can write to a woman for months and never travel to meet with her. And this happens quite often. So the chances that a woman would want to be as open hearted and open minded become lower with every time she gets disappointed in online dating. This is the biggest problem I see with it.
